September 7, 2026 Rybickulous Faith Weekly
Shalom, y'all!
Have you ever caught yourself measuring your worth by what you accomplished?
Maybe it's your career, your bank account, how well your kids are doing, how productive you were this week, the number on the scale, your social media engagement—or whether you managed to check everything off that never-ending to-do list.
We all have scoreboards.
And sometimes we forget that God isn't keeping score the way the world does.
This week on Rybickulous Faith, we're talking about what happens when we stop asking, “Am I doing enough?” and start remembering who we are in Christ.
🎙️ THIS WEEK'S EPISODE
Your Worth Isn't Your Performance: Finding Your Identity in Christ
This morning I'm joined by author, chaplain, and mentor Jerry “J.” Higgins Jr., founder of AnchorPoint Press LLC and author of the Beyond the Scoreboard series.
Jerry's ministry carries a message I think reaches far beyond athletes:
You are more important and valuable than any stat, score, achievement, or performance appraisal.
During our conversation, we talk about:
Finding your identity in Christ instead of your accomplishments
What happens when success becomes the source of our self-worth
Grace and forgiveness when we don't get everything right
The pressures facing athletes and young people
Helping our children understand that failure doesn't define them
Jerry's experiences serving as a chaplain
Why people need to know they aren't alone
Finding Jesus throughout the Book of Revelation
What our lives might look like if we truly lived expecting Christ's return
Whether you've ever stood on an athletic field or not, there's something in this conversation for you.
Because somewhere along the way, most of us have created a scoreboard of our own.

📖 THIS WEEK ON THE BLOG
Who Are You Without the Scoreboard?
Jerry's conversation got me thinking about a question that reaches much deeper than sports:
If everything you use to prove your worth disappeared tomorrow, would you still know who you are?
Our culture teaches us to build identities around things that can change overnight.
Jobs disappear.
Businesses struggle.
Bodies change.
Relationships change.
Numbers rise and fall.
People applaud—and sometimes they don't.
But none of those things were ever meant to carry the weight of telling us who we are.
This week's blog digs deeper into performance-based identity, disappointment, grace, parenting young athletes, comparison, and what Scripture teaches us about where our value actually comes from.

✝️ SCRIPTURE FOR THE WEEK
“So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”
— Matthew 10:31
Jesus wasn't giving us a motivational slogan.
He was revealing something about the character of our Father.
God sees you.
Not the polished version.
Not just the productive version.
Not only the version who got everything right this week.
You.
Before you accomplish another thing, you are already known by God.
That's a truth worth carrying into Monday morning.
💭 SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Ask yourself this week:
What scoreboard have I been using to measure my worth?
Then take it one step further:
What does God say about me that is still true regardless of what that scoreboard says?
Maybe write your answer somewhere you'll see it this week.
Because the world will happily hand you another measuring stick tomorrow.
You don't have to pick it up.
📚 MEET JERRY HIGGINS JR.
Jerry “J.” Higgins Jr. is an author, chaplain, mentor, and founder of AnchorPoint Press LLC.
His Beyond the Scoreboard series encourages athletes to develop confidence, resilience, purpose, and an identity rooted in something much bigger than athletic performance.
He's also developing a men's study through the Book of Revelation that takes an approach I especially enjoyed discussing with him: instead of becoming consumed by timelines and predictions, look for Jesus.

❤️ BEFORE YOU GO...
Friend, you don't have to earn your way into being valuable this week.
Work hard.
Use the gifts God gave you.
Show up.
Try again when you fail.
Celebrate the victories.
Learn from the losses.
But don't confuse any of those things with who you are.
The scoreboard can tell you how the game went.
It cannot tell you your worth.
Jesus already settled that.
Until next week, keep seeking Him, keep owning the story He's entrusted to you, and...
Keep sharing your Rybickulous Faith.
With love & Rybickulous hope,
Sarah Rybicki
