Your Story Matters: How God Can Use Your Testimony for His Glory
Shalom, y'all!
Have you ever felt like God was nudging you to share your story—but fear immediately gave you a hundred reasons not to?
Who am I to tell this story?
What if people judge me?
What if my testimony isn't dramatic enough?
What if I start writing and have absolutely no idea what I'm doing?
Friend, maybe the question isn't whether your story is "good enough."
Maybe the question is whether you're willing to steward what God has entrusted to you.
This week on Rybickulous Faith, I'm sitting down with Wendy Melrose, founder of Resilience Press, and y'all... this conversation is right in the heart of what Rybickulous is all about.
🎙️ THIS WEEK: YOUR STORY MATTERS
Wendy helps people take their stories, expertise, and God-given messages and turn them into books that create impact, healing, and legacy.
But our conversation goes much deeper than publishing.
We're talking about what happens when God asks you to share the difficult chapters.
How do we tell the truth without oversharing?
How do we stop striving for recognition and become Kingdom-minded about our impact?
How do we overcome the fear that keeps us from writing the book, sharing the testimony, or taking that first step?
And maybe most importantly:
Can we trust God with our story even when we never get to see the impact it makes?
I think we can.
Because Kingdom work isn't about making sure everybody remembers our name.
It's about making sure our lives point people toward His.
📖 STOP LETTING FEAR HOLD THE PEN
There are people walking around right now with books God has been nudging them to write for YEARS.
Maybe that's you.
You've got the idea. You've lived the story. Maybe you've even started the manuscript.
But then fear starts talking.
"You're not a writer."
"Someone else already wrote about that."
"Nobody cares about your story."
"What will people think?"
Here's what I want you to remember:
You don't have to write the whole book today.
Write the paragraph.
Open the document.
Tell someone about the idea.
Take the next faithful step.
If God has given you something to steward, you don't need to know exactly where obedience will lead before you begin.
🌿 ABIDING, NOT STRIVING
Wendy and I also get into something I think a LOT of us need to hear.
We can become so busy doing things for God that we forget to simply be with God.
More content.
More ministry.
More goals.
More accomplishments.
But Jesus tells us:
"Remain in me, and I will remain in you." — John 15:4 NLT
Fruit doesn't come from exhausting ourselves trying to prove we're fruitful.
It comes from abiding in Christ.
Sometimes obedience looks like doing the work.
And sometimes obedience looks like trusting God enough to rest.
❤️ BE LOVE
We also talk about sharing Jesus without treating people like projects.
Not every interaction needs to become a sermon.
Sometimes people need us to listen.
Sometimes they need compassion.
Sometimes they need someone willing to sit beside them in the messy chapter and demonstrate the love of Jesus before ever trying to explain it.
Be present. Be genuine. Be love.
And trust the Holy Spirit to do what only He can do.

💭 SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT THIS WEEK
I want to leave you with a question:
What part of your story have you been hesitant to share that God may eventually want to use?
You don't have to post it.
You don't have to tell everybody.
Just take it to Jesus.
Ask Him:
"Lord, how do You want me to steward what You've brought me through?"
Then listen.
Because your story matters.
Not because you're the hero of it.
Because God is.
I'll see y'all Monday morning. ❤️
Shalom, y'all.
